THE KIDS at the Rangebank Preschool experienced an out of season treat when parents and pre-school director Barbara Ryan decided to convert the playground into a Winter Olympics obstacle course.
The children spent the day on the ‘luge’ otherwise known as the slide and the ‘bobsled’ also known as the tunnel among other activities.
Ms Ryan said torch making was a feature of the day but the real highlight for the kids was the medal they all got to take home to mum and dad at the end.
Ms Ryan has a special fondness for Canada after working there for two and a half years as a nanny and thought the Olympics would be an opportunity to teach the children about the Northern Hemisphere, cold and heat and native animals from Canada.
Ms Ryan describes herself as ‘pretty spontaneous’ but has already got her next fun day planned for the children - to dress up as the Easter Bunny.
