WALLAN’S final home-and-away game in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association B grade season against Sunbury was abandoned on Saturday.

A storm that hit Melbourne Saturday afternoon washed out the match to finish the regular season.

The Magpies finished the season on top with 10 wins from 14 matches, putting it into the finals series.

Not to be denied by the weather, the two teams will coincidentally play each other in a semi-final this Saturday at Greenhill Oval.

St Anthony’s and Diggers Rest/Bulla will contest the other B grade semi-final.
