ORGANISERS of the 21st Bunyip Country Music Festival hailed Sunday’s event a success, despite crowd numbers being down on previous years.

About 1000 people gathered at Bunyip Recreation Reserve on the weekend and danced the day away to the great line-up of country music artists.

Festival organiser Joy Batchelor said everyone who attended the event had a great day out.

“I think the weather kept a lot of people away, which was a bit disappointing,” Ms Batchelor said.

“Everyone that came through thought what a great day they had.”

Golden Guitar winner Travis Sinclair headed the festival line-up along with Jasmine Rae, Jeff Brown, Tim Farren, Blue Mountain Rain, Simply Bushed, Sandra Humphries, Bec Hance, The Longhorns and Jamie Lee.

Ms Batchelor believes the event was so successful because of its top line-up.

“You couldn’t fault anybody,” she said.

“I can’t pick a standout performance, they were all great … I haven’t heard anyone complain about any of them.”

She said she had received great feedback from all performers saying they had great sales of CDs and merchandise.
