MELBOURNE Knights’ travel to Dandenong was a fruitless one, with the Thunder prevailing 2-1 winners over the 10-man Knights at George Andrews Reserve on Saturday night.

The Thunder led 2-0, with goals from Joseph Di Iorio and Shane Rexhepi, before Knights recruit Jean Charles Dubois put some scoreboard pressure on the 2009 minor premier, but it brought about no points for the visitors.

There was not much good news for the Knights, as Kevin Townson was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, which made Melbourne’s challenge for a result a lot tougher.

Melbourne will face Heidelberg United this Monday at Knights Stadium, kickoff at 6pm.
